Pixels of Christmas

Here’s a whole buncha photos from over the Christmas break. I’m counting each as an extra 1k words for this post.

Spotted on the train ride through SLC. Never been to this part of town. I do wonder what a tour group through a laundromat looks like.
Neato train station.
We decided to check out exactly how much food was in this generous gift basket.
The answer: not a whole lot. But delicious nonetheless.
The ratio of wrapping-to-food was especially high.

There’s a heron in this shot, if you can spot ‘er.
Cousin John trying to get a shot of it.
Puppy pit-stop on the way to the Cabin. Everyone was happy to stretch their legs.

These four were such a handful. Won’t be having as many dogs at once again any time soon.
So sad to see me go.
Scout wanted some o’ that spaghetti.
Some great snowmobiling on this trip.
Instead of the planned trip into town to watch the fireworks, we spent New Years helping get the car unstuck from a snowbank. So much more memorable than the original plan.
On a trip through Provo, I was heading into town when I saw a crash. Sad scene.
On the way back out, past that same spot, I saw a different crash. No longer sad, this was now just funny.

So that was Christmas and New Years. Getting back to Washingon was pretty rough. My first day was made moreso by the revelation that I hadn’t been on the proper mailing lists, and all the discussion and planning for an upcoming recruiting trip back to Utah in February had all taken place back in November and early December, without my knowledge. So I probably won’t be able to be back when I thought I could.

Mom’s bread helped get me through the first week. Brought some for other members here and there, universally lauded.
Met my roommate’s iguana, Archie. He’s such a cat.

I’ve been living on a prayer as far as getting my car registered. It’s slipped and slipped and now it’s been about four months since it’s been street-legal. And yesterday was a great reminder, when I got pulled over for making an illegal left-hand turn. Got off with a warning on both that and the registration, but I definitely won’t be lax anymore with getting that taken care of.

  1. Loved all of these pics! Each one tells a story, and it all adds up to a whole lot of fun. You packed a lot in to your time here; it’s awesome to have it so well documented in photos. Big ‘ol bummer about the February trip being planned without your input. Dang! We’ll have to think of another excuse to get together either here or there. You’re living right to get off with a warning from Officer Friendly. Glad you didn’t get a ticket. Thanks for the great update. Scout is asleep on my lap and he is snoring. Ah, life is good. Love you Jeff!
